Hanover Valley Sunday Service Livestream - July 19th

Dear Friends,
"Your real, new self (which is Christ’s and also yours, and yours just because it is His) will not come as long as you are looking for it. It will come when you are looking for Him. Does that sound strange? The same principle holds, you know, for more everyday matters. Even in social life you will never make a good impression on other people until you stop thinking about what sort of impression you are making. Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it. The principle runs through all of life from top to bottom. Give up yourself, and you will find your real self. Lose your life and you will save it.” C. S. Lewis Mere Christianity
Kids Fest
On August 7th, from 6;30 - 7:30, we will be offering a Kids fest drive by parade for all the families that have ever been to Kids Fest. It'll be a simple and safe opportunity for our kids Fest community to connect during this unusual year of crisis. A chance to see faces and smiles and waves and excitement on this off year to let everyone know we still love them and that we'll be back next year. Tonight, we gathered all the kid movers at Codorus Park to work on some of the parade details and to make some posters in advance of the event.
Live Stream Worship We continue to offer the weekly livestream worship service at 10am on Sundays. The link to join in is here: https://m.youtube.com/user/HanoverValley We hope that it is an encouragement and a chance to explore the person and grace of Christ in a practical and captivating way. Please feel free to share the link on social media and with others' in your life who may wish to check it out. We have discovered many in and around our area who have found the live stream and Hanover Valley for the first time through this link and by sharing it on social media. In addition to engaging the livestream from your own home, we also offer two more options available during this pandemic crisis: 1. Small groups are available to meet in homes to worship together. If this option suits your situation best we encourage you to contact one of the growth group leaders or the church office to see if a group gathering is occurring and how you might best be prepared to be a part. 2. The church building will be available for anyone to be present while the live stream is being produced. This option will involve wearing masks during the service and being careful to space ourselves to prevent infection. The session and I are staying informed about the health and safety guidelines from the community and our regional leaders. We have and will continue to make adjustments to our existing patterns of ministry and worship as they are needed, so that we can love and care for our community at large and to work in partnership with them to the best of our ability. The session, Noah and I are praying for you. We love you and we want to know your needs and any ways we can be of help. Do not hesitate to reach out to us no matter how large or small your need is. We are happy to share the burden. We have been and continue to reach out to everyone as we are able. Please be praying for us and for one another. Give a call, Send a note, an email or text to the people around you or in the church network, even some you may not know well just to say hello or to offer a kind word. The Lord works through these small engagements. Show some love, show some love, show some love. Warmly, Drew Derreth.

Prelude
Call to Worship
Gathering Song
10,000 Reasons
Chorus: Bless the lord, O my soul. O my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before, O my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name
The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes. Chorus
You're rich in love, and Your slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. Chorus
And on that day, when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore! Chorus (2x)

Corporate Prayer of Confession
Everlasting God, fountain of all life and the true home of every heart: Our hearts are restless until they rest in you. Yet we confess that our hearts have been enslaved by selfish passion and base desire. We have sought after many things and have neglected the one thing needful. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. Loving Father, who alone can fill our deepest longings and quiet our restless hearts, help us to turn to you and find forgiveness. Lead us home that we may again find in your our life and joy and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Private Confession
Words of Encouragement
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Song of Reflection
Rock of Ages
Rock of ages cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee,
Let the water and the blood, from thy riven side which flowed
Be, of sin, the double cure, cleanse me from its guilt and pow'r
Not the labors of my hands, can fulfill thy law's demands
Could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow
All for sin could not atone. Thou must save, and Thou along
Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling
Naked, come to Thee for dress, helpless, look to Thee for grace
Foul, I to the fountain fly, wash me Savior or I die
While I draw this fleeting breath, when mine eyelids clise in death
When I soar to worlds unknown, seed Thee on Thy judgement throne
Rock of ages cleft for me, let me hid myself in Thee.
Benediction
Parting Song of Praise
