Call to Worship

Gathering Songs (Please Stand)

10,000 Reasons

Chorus: Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul

Worship His Holy name

Sing like never before, O my soul

I’ll worship Your Holy name

The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning

It’s time to sing Your song again

Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me

Let me be singing with the evening comes

You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger

Your name is great and Your heart is kind

For all Your goodness I will keep on singing

Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

And on that day, when my strength is failing

The end draws near and my time has come

Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending

ten thousand years and then forevermore!

Corporate Prayer of Confession

Loving Father, you alone are the Creator and Sustainer of all things. It is our great privilege to live under your wisdom, mercy, and grace. You love us with better love than any we could ever know here on earth. Yet even though we have tasted your goodness, we are a people who would rather trust in ourselves. We place our hope in our talents, in our relationships, in our jobs and wealth, and our academic abilities. Father, we are worshipers of ourselves, and we find our hearts full of anxiety and fear when we discover that we cannot save ourselves or fix our situations. Show us the unstoppable love of our Savior, who was stricken for our sin. Forgive our self-reliance and rejection of you. Fill us with repentance and hope in you, that we might praise you for your grace and serve you with passionate lives. In our Savior’s name we pray. Amen.

Private Confession

Words of Encouragement

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “”Abba,” Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Grace for the Hopeless

Song of Reflection

Ever Be

Your love is devoted, like a ring of solid gold

Like a vow that is tested, like a covenant of old

Your love is enduring, through the winter rain

And beyond the horizon with mercy for today

Faithful you have been, and faithful you will be

You pledge yourself to me, and it’s why I sing

Chorus: Your praise will ever be on my lips, ever be on my lips

Your praise will ever be on my lips, ever be on my lips

Your praise will ever be on my lips, ever be on my lips

Your praise will ever be on my lips, ever be on my lips

You father the orphan, your kindness makes us whole

You shoulder our weakness, and your strength becomes our own

You’re making me like you, clothing me in white

Bringing beauty from ashes, for you will have your bride

Free of all her guilt, and rid of all her shame

And known by her true name, and it’s why I sing

You will be praised, you will be praised

With angels and saints we sing

Worthy are You Lord

You will be praised, You will be praised

With angels and saints we sing

Worthy are You Lord

And it’s why I sing

Parting Song of Praise

I Love You Lord

I love You, Lord, and I lift my voice,

To worship You, oh my soul, rejoice!

Take joy, my King, in what You hear,

Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear.
