And to all who will come,

REFLECTIONS
Niceness—wholesome, integrated personality—is an excellent thing. We must try by every medical, educational, economic, and political means in our power to produce a world where as many people grow up ‘nice’; just as we must try to produce a world where all have plenty to eat. But we must not suppose that even if we succeeded in making everyone nice we should have saved their souls. A world of nice people, content with their own niceness, looking no further, turned away from God, would be just as desperately in need of salvation as a miserable world—and might even be more difficult to save. For mere improvement is not redemption, though redemption always improves people even here and now and will, in the end, improve them to a degree we cannot yet imagine. God became man to turn creatures into sons: not simply to produce better men of the old kind but to produce a new kind of man.

SUNDAY WORSHIP
October 5th, 2025
Prelude
Call to Worship
Gathering Songs (Please Stand)
Sing to the King
Sing to the King Who is coming to reign.
Glory to Jesus, the Lamb that was slain.
Life and salvation His empire shall bring,
And joy to the nations, when Jesus is King.
Chorus: Come let us sing a song,
A song declaring that we belong to Jesus
He is all we need
Lift up a heart of praise.
Sing now with voices raised to Jesus;
Sing to the King
For His returning we watch and we pray;
We will be ready the dawn of that day.
We’ll join in singing with all the redeemed,
‘Cause Satan is vanquished and Jesus is King. Chorus
Come Boldly to the Throne of Grace
Come boldly to the throne of grace,
Ye wretched sinners come;
And lay your load at Jesus’ feet,
And plead what He has done.
Come boldly to the throne of grace,
Though lost, and blind, and lame;
Jehovah is the sinner’s Friend,
And ever was the same.
He makes the dead to hear His voice;
He makes the blind to see;
The sinner lost He came to save,
And set the prisoner free.
Poor bankrupt souls, who feel and know
The hell of sin within,
Come boldly to the throne of grace;
The Lord will take you in, take you in.

Corporate Prayer of Confession
Father in heaven, we come to you today admitting that we would be hopeless had you not sent your Son into the world. We need you to come and rescue us, for we cannot rescue ourselves. We need you to stoop to our level, for we could never attain yours. We need your Son to have died, so that we might live. So we come confessing our need for you. We confess that we have sought to be our own rescuers, our own saviors. We have tried very desperately to make our lives work without your grace. This has left us anxious, hardened and fearful. We now run into your arms, asking you to make us whole. Receive us, we pray, for Jesus’ sake. It is in His name we pray, Amen.
Private Confession
Words of Encouragement
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
Song of Assurance (Please Stand)
Jesus, Priceless Treasure
Jesus, priceless treasure, source of purest pleasure, truest friend to me.
Long my heart hath panted ’til it well nigh fainted, thirsting after Thee.
Thine I am, O spotless Lamb, I will suffer naught to hide Thee,
Ask for naught beside Thee, ask for naught beside Thee
In Thy strength I rest me, if Thy arms protect me, who can reach me here?
Though the earth be shaking, every heart be quaking, God dispells our fear.
Sin and hell and conflict fell, with their heaviest storms assail us,
Jesus will not fail us, Jesus will not fail us
Banished is our sadness, for the Lord of gladness, Jesus enters in.
Those who love the Father, though the storms may gather, still have peace within.
Yea, whate’er we here must bear still in Thee lies purest pleasure,
Jesus, priceless treasure, Jesus, priceless treasure
Yea, whate’er we here must bear still in Thee lies purest pleasure,
Jesus, priceless treasure, Jesus, priceless treasure

The Wonderful Cross
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride
See from His head His hands His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown
Chorus: O the wonderful cross
O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find
That I may truly live
O the wonderful cross
O the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace
Draw near and bless Your name
Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing so divine
Demands my soul my life my all Chorus
Invitation to the Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper, also called Communion or the Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. We welcome all committed followers of Jesus Christ to partake of this sacrament; those who are baptized members of a congregation which proclaims the gospel, who are at peace with God and with their neighbor, and who seek strength to live more faithfully for Christ. If you are not a Christian, or if you are not prepared to share in this meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. Note About the Supper: Wine is used. However, the outer ring of the tray contains non-alcoholic grape juice. Please hold the elements so that we may all partake together.

SCRIPTURE
Genesis 41:41-57
41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.” 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and people shouted before him, “Make way!” Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.
44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.” 45 Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, to be his wife. And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt.
46 Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh’s presence and traveled throughout Egypt. 47 During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully. 48 Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it. 49 Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.
50 Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On. 51 Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” 52 The second son he named Ephraim and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”
53 The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end, 54 and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food. 55 When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph and do what he tells you.”
56 When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt. 57 And all the world came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe everywhere.
PRAYERS FOR THOSE NOT COMMUNING
Prayer for Those Searching for Truth
Lord Jesus, You claim to be the way, the truth and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following You as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what You claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open me to the reality of who You are. Give me an understanding of You that is coherent, convincing, and that leads to the life that You Proclaim. Amen.
Prayer of Belief
Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared admit, but through You I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt on the cross, taking what I deserved in order to offer me complete forgiveness. Knowing that You have been raised from the dead as proof of your power to conquer sin and death, I turn from my sins and recieve You as my Savior and Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Those Struggling with Sin
Lord Jesus, grant that I may see in You the fulfillment of all my need, and may turn from every false satisfaction to feed on You, the true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside the sin that clings so closely, and run with perseverence the race set before me, looking to You, the pioneer and perfector of my faith. Amen
Prayer of Commitment
Lord Jesus, You have called us to follow You in baptism and in a life of committed discipleship in your Church. Grant that I may take the steps necessary to be one with Your people and live in the fullness of Your Spirit. Amen
