WELCOME
TO HANOVER VALLEY

Our purpose is to become an authentic community that knows Christ and makes His grace and truth known with such power and glory that lives are transformed by the gospel, multiplying worship and praise to God throughout Hanover and the world.
Welcome. We’re glad that you’re with us. We hope you’ll find joyful worship that engages both your heart and mind, as well as genuine friendship and a caring atmosphere. Please take advantage of any of the opportunities offered here. If we can serve you in any way today, simply speak to one of the ushers.
Children are welcome to stay in the service, but if you prefer, quality childcare is provided throughout the service for children from infants to kindergarten aged. Please speak to one of our ushers for locations.
This bulletin will guide you through the service – just start on the next page and continue as the pastor leads. (Moments when you should stand are noted).
As a courtesy to you and those around you, we ask that you please mute cell phones during the worship time.
- To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest;
- To all who mourn and long for comfort;
- To all who struggle and desire victory;
- To all who sin and need a Savior;
- To all who are strangers and want fellowship;
- To all who hunger and thirst after righteousness;
- And to all who will come,
this church opens wide her doors and
offers welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
REFLECTIONS
We need to keep our heart full of a sense of the love of God. This is the greatest perspective available to us against the power of temptation in the world…Fill your heart with a sense of the love of God in Christ, and apply the eternal design of grace and shed blood to yourselves. Accept all the privileges of adoption, justification, and acceptance with God. Fill your heart with thoughts of the beauty of holiness…then in the ordinary course of walking with God, you will experience great peace and security from temptation.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

Prelude
Call to Worship
Gathering Songs (Please Stand)
Here in This Place
Lay your burden down, every care you carry
And come to the table of grace, for there is mercy
We come just as we are, though we’re all unworthy
To enter Your presence, Oh Lord, for You are holy.
Chorus: We lift our heart, we lift our hands,
We fall on our knees and pray
To the King of Kings for the love You bring
Is here, in this place
We raise our voices, raise our song,
We offer You our praise,
You’re the King of Kings and the joy You bring
Is here, You are here in this place
Fill our lives with praise, show us Your forgiveness
And give us the faith to believe that You’ve redeemed us
You are Lord of all and we give You glory,
All honor and power and praise, for You are worthy
Chorus
Praise My Soul King of Heaven
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven,
To His feet, thy tribute bring
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven
Who, like me, His praise should sing?
Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise Him
Praise the everlasting King
Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise Him
Praise the everlasting King
Fatherlike, He tends and spares us,
Well, our feeble frame He knows
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes
Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise Him
Widely as His mercy goes
Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise Him
Widely as His mercy goes
Angels, help us to adore Him
Ye behold Him face to face
Sun and moon bow down before Him
Dwellers, all in time and space
Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise Him
Praise with us, the God of grace
Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise Him
Praise with us, the God of grace

Give Us Clean Hands
We bow our hearts, we bend our knees;
Oh Spirit, come make us humble.
We turn our eyes from evil things;
Oh Lord, we cast down our idols.
Chorus: Give us clean hands, give us pure hearts;
Let us not lift our souls to another.
Give us clean hands, give us pure hearts;
Let us not lift our souls to another.
And oh God, let us be a generation that seeks,
That seeks Your face, oh God of Jacob;
And oh God, let us be a generation that seeks,
That seeks Your face, oh God of Jacob.
We bow our hearts, we bend our knees;
Oh Spirit, come make us humble.
We turn our eyes from evil things;
Oh Lord, we cast down our idols.
Chorus
Give us clean hands, give us pure hearts;
Let us not lift our souls to another.
Give us clean hands, give us pure hearts;
Let us not lift our souls to another.
Corporate Prayer of Confession
O most great, most just and gracious God; you are of purer eyes than to behold iniquity; but you have promised mercy through Jesus Christ to all that repent and believe in Him. We confess that we have sinned and come short of your glory. We have neglected your holy worship. We have dealt unjustly and unlovingly with our neighbors. We have not made you first in our hearts and lives. With our self-pity and penance we have sought to pay for our own sin and insulted your kindness. You have revealed your wonderful love to us in Christ and offered us pardon and salvation in the cross; but we have turned away. We have run into temptation; and the sin we should have hated, we have committed. Have mercy on us, most merciful Father! In your Son is our salvation, in your promises our hope. Take us as your children and give us your Spirit. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son and our only Savior. Amen.

Private Confession
Words of Encouragement
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.
Psalm 103:11-13
Song of Assurance (Please Stand)
Hosanna
Let the weak say “I am strong.” Let the poor say “I am rich”
Let the blind say “I can see,” it’s what the Lord has done in me.
Let the weak say “I am strong.” Let the poor say “I am rich”
Let the blind say “I can see,” it’s what the Lord has done in me.
Chorus: Hosanna, hosanna to the Lamb that was slain.
Hosanna, hosanna, Jesus died and rose again.
Hosanna, hosanna to the Lamb that was slain.
Hosanna, hosanna, Jesus died and rose again.
Into the river I will wade, there my sins are washed away.
From the heaven’s mercy stream of the Savior’s love for me.
I will rise from waters deep into the saving arms of God.
I will sing salvation songs. Jesus Christ has set me free.
Chorus
Jesus died and rose again, Jesus died and rose again.

Song of Reflection (Please Stand)
My Heart is Filled With Thankfulness
My heart is filled with thankfulness to Him who bore my pain;
Who plumbed the depths of my disgrace and gave me life again;
Who crushed my curse of sinfulness and clothed me with His light
And wrote His law of righteousness with power upon my heart.
My heart is filled with thankfulness to Him who walks beside,
Who floods my weaknesses with strength, and causes fears to fly;
Whose every promise is enough for every step I take,
Sustaining me with arms of love and crowning me with grace.
My heart is filled with thankfulness to Him who reigns above;
Whose wisdom is my perfect peace, whose every thought is love.
For ev’ry day I have on earth is given by the King;
So I will give my life, my all, to love and follow him.

SCRIPTURE
Matthew 25:31-46
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

- Pray that Andrew Hauser will continue to remain clear of any rejection of his new organs and for safety as he travels to and from Pittsburgh for his tests.
- Pray that we would recognize God’s hand in our lives and the lives around us.
- Ann Kerrison, a friend of Debbie Stapf, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Pray for Ann and her family as they navigate this challenging time, both physically and emotionally. Please pray for strength and healing while she is on chemo, which is making her very sick.
- Please pray that Debbie Stapf’s doctors can find the right medication to work for her as she continues to live with Parkinson’s.
- As of Dec. 5th, Melissa Anderson Casper is eligible for a kidney and pancreas transplant. After two more tests, she will be placed on the list. Please pray for a kidney to be donated.
